Is it legal to burn trash or wood outside in Wichita? (HOA, house)

I have had my upstairs filled with smokey fumes twice in the last two months. The first time, it was a house two doors down that was burning something that smelled like toxic fumes. It was so bad outside that my eyes stung. I called the fire department for that one.

Today, my next door neighbor had a bunch of wood just smoking in their backyard and the smoke again came heavily into my upstairs bedroom. This time I demanded that they put it out.

I know in other states it is illegal to do out side burning like this, but is it legal in Wichita?

When I lived there it was NOT legal and had not been since the 1960s. And I know how you feel because here in GA it is legal and the smoke would get on my nerves too. I am just glad we live in an HOA that does not allow it.
