First let me say that I'm aware of the current recession in the energy industry—let's put that aside for a the sake of this question. I'm interested in working as a dispatcher the oil patch. Looking at the job ads for dispatchers, it seems most jobs want people with trucking experience. But I'm not a driver and never will be. Due to a physical problem I'm pretty much stick to the desk/phone. Is there any way to break into the O&G industry as a dispatcher without trucking or industry experience?
