I've noticed over the years that fall colors are not the same each year. Some years the colors are more bright and last longer. As best as I can tell this is related to the rainfall during summer. More and even rainfall = better color season.

Up north here should be good color as so much rain. That is why see some maples in swampy areas already red and yellow though excess water.

I was in Hayward this past weekend. Some of the trees are starting to turn. I would guess peak would be in a few weeks. (by end of Sept) We have been having frost warnings near Rhinelander the past few days...

Maple and the sumac have gotten the word; oaks are still busy producing their mast.

It was 34F last night in the Antigo MSA.

Colors changing fast now. Say 20-50% say close to 40% in Rusk County now with swamps being most colored areas. All the rain make them change faster now but the winds are ripping them off like mad today.

Seen yellow and orange some red. Strange see a quite a few aspen not changed yet but maples coloring quickly.

Thanks for the update! I check the weather in Ladysmith almost daily. It was warmer this week, wasn't it? Fall Festival of Color this weekend, I think.
