Default Would you sacrifice yourself for your kids?

This bird almost did.

We were walking on a trail this morning when he jump out and landed right in front of us. He would run a couple of feet, stop and wait for us. If the dog got too close he would fly a few feet and land back on the trail. By close, I mean within inches. At first I thought the bird was really injured. He did this for forty-fifty feet. Finally when we far enough away from where ever he had the nest he flew back.

Be real careful around these guys. Once my dog got a snapper so mad that it jumped at him. I'm not an umpire but I think all four feet cleared the ground at once. Really surprised the yelping dog, and me too. After that the dog kept a much wider distance, until I could finally drag him away. Was a youngster at the time. Those were the days.

Thanks guys, I'll keep that in mind! I'm sure they could chop off a finger very easily.

I love it how the Northwoods has so many Coniferous trees vs. Decidous trees. Don't get me wrong decidous trees are nice like Birch trees. etc. I just think whenever I see a picture of coniferouse trees and a lake I think Northern WI.

Great Pix!
