CouleeGuy, great shots! I love looking at the snow-covered trees in the distance.

Very cool I will be posting more pics of La Crosse soon. The Bluffs are awesome! I have a video of the Rotary lights that I am editing now.

CouleeGuy, I love the pictures! I'm glad your adding some to the Photo thread. I always love seeing Wisconsin in different sections...

This spring I'd recommend the Great River Road.
The official Web site for the Wisconsin Great River Road along the Mississippi River

Winter slammed into WI like a runaway freight train this year. Dec 21, winter solstice, first day of winter.
About a foot and a half of snow the past few days, now being blown and drifted up all over the place.
Here in Madison the high today was about 4 below zero, the wind chill is about 20 below. Last night was
really bitter, almost Jack London stuff.

Here are a few shots from today Dec 21 2008.

Olbrich park boat launch area, on Lake Monona. Dec 21 2008.
Winter has slammed into Madison. Wind chill is about 20 below
at time of photo. Note no ice fishermen out on the lake today.

Michaels Frozen Custard on Monona Drive. First day of winter Dec 21 2008.
Still, Michaels is open for business, note the open sign is lit.
And there are customers in there.

No waiting today. Do you suppose it is the regulations, or maybe the weather. Photographer
leaves the car running, only steps out for about 3 or 4 snaps.

Farm and fields. Most people are staying snug inside today. Not too much activity outdoors.
The christmas shoppers are out braving this though.
This is my favorite shot from today.
