I agree - I don't see anything wrong with kicking back and having some drinks in your down time. In a beer-drinking state, it's literally a past-time. Nothing wrong with that. A friend of mine and her husband make beer and love to go to those beer-tasting events. They've got good jobs, a nice house, and a little baby. Enjoying Wisconsin's beer culture doesn't automatically equate to: nothing else going on in life, no talent, no other interests, etc. lol

I'm not a big drinker myself, but I do enjoy it now and then, and yeah, I suppose I wouldn't mind learning more about beer and going to those events sometimes myself. Sadly she can't really take me, she lives down near Madison now, but yeah... sounds like fun to me.

But at least, drunk Wisconsin drivers are OK behind the wheel, ranking only 19th

And we did a whole lot better in this category:

Oh, wait, I went too far down the alphabetical list.

Just out of curiosity... having the highest alcohol abuse rate, how does Domestic Violence rank in Wisconsin?

Back in the 1980s, Auglaize County, Ohio and Orange County, California were fighting for the highest per capita alcohol consumption rate in the US. Auglaize County is full of German farmers.

My concern, having young children, is the culture of drinking that kids grow up with in Wisconsin.

Moving to WI with two teenage boys. I'm terrified. Sounds like a horrible place to raise kids.
