If one day a month of that, or even a week of that, once a month makes you think it is a cold month overall, then yeah, I would call that fringe.

Each to their own. I shut down when it is over 85. I can't take it.

Same here! Unless I'm in a river or lake.

since I acclimated quickly to SC's climate after a lifetime in WI, a day now only hitting the 40's (below avg here) feels darn cold and makes me really bundle up when we visit back home each Dec.
Just now far easier for me to handle and enjoy 90's+ then 40's and below, especially since what we enjoy doing outdoors are summer activities and not winter ones.

And yes I know, to each his own lol

As I get older I find myself less tolerable of any temperatures below 45 degrees. During this past summer and the week of weather that was into the 90s my wife and I spent as much time as possible outside enjoying the rare heat of WI.

I am intolerant of any temperature over 78 and any temperature under 75. :-) Just kidding. Kinda.

The first month of winter is never all that bad. And then, by January, when the snow is filthy, the skies are gray, I've slipped and fallen on my rump a time or two, I turn into Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

Now I live in South Carolina, though, so we'll see if I still turn into a crazy person with warmer temperatures. It's about a 50-50 shot at this point, I'm thinking. :-)

I can relate. I'm in Duluth, which only gets 52% of possible daylight, and I hate the weather. I feel like I'm stuck in a pot with the lid down tight with how dark it is here. Even going out and hiking regularly, I can feel the effect of the lack of sun on my mood.

Cloudy days are great for cozy days once in a while, but too much and it just saps your energy. I'd rather have a nice sunny day that I go out and enjoy, then come home and get cozy at night when it's dark. Being sedentary and cozy all day just makes me feel lazy and makes it so I can't sleep that night.

Then again, I grew up in New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, and Utah. This whole midwestern winter thing just doesn't do it for me.

People always say "But I love the change of seasons, and sunny and 80 would be boring every day"

I like to respond with "Really?!, perfection gets old? so perfect weather every day is boring?"

Perfection does not get old.

Destin, Florida aka the emerald Coast.

I can honestly say that 87 every day year-round in Guam gets real old. Never a cool refreshing moment to be active outdoors without sweating and burning.

No variability gets old, not matter how so called "perfect" it is.
