Hey everyone,

I am a mid-twenties single male considering a job offer and a move to the area. My job will be located in South La Crosse. I am looking to rent and to spend 800-1000, preferably on the lower end.

I am currently torn between living near work or finding a place downtown (near 3rd and 4th streets from what I read). As I am completely new to the area, it would be nice to be able to walk to restaurants, bars, and coffee shops to meet people my age. However, I don't know if I want to live in the middle of college housing.

Ultimately, I would like to live in an area where, after work, I can walk to a happy hour or catch a sports game.

Any advice would be appreciated and possibly some blocks that I should look into for housing.

Thanks!
