Wow, this thread has really devolved from it's original intent. It's almost in out of control status. Yay, Wisconsin!

and this is why i didn't move to leftist dominated places. it wasn't out of any political like-mindedness so to speak. wherever leftists rule, there is a lot of intolerance of all things non left or approved minority, great restrictions in individual freedoms and increased financial costs. that's why i and many others don't choose to move to leftist places.
LMAO... considering that you didn't even deny that you believe minorities deserve to be treated as second-class citizens when asked, you're not exactly in a position to call anyone intolerant. Especially not when, by your own admission, you moved to the northwoods to escape the "leftists" in Madison. But I'm sure you interact with SO MANY people who don't have a background similar to yours in that little backwater berg you moved to.

Of course, if you actually gave a crap about intellectual honesty in the first place, you wouldn't actually believe any of the BS you've been spewing throughout this thread.

You may be talking about me. I don't think you "called me out" as I have never made any attempt to hide my disgust at the intolerant, idealogically close minded, radical Madisonian.
College children, old hippies and govt employees riding the public gravy train yet holding their providers in contempt. Born and raised there - had enough of it.

Didn't quit anything either; just pretty darn busy. Certainly don't live for this forum. I pop in here once or twice /month for entertainement and to solicit/provide advise - that's about it. I expect to change no opinion.

As to OP's question - Don't live there anymore so no; WI taxes don't effect my quality of life.
I do still own about 100 acres there so I do pay property tax. I will make my $ when I log it off in 5 yrs. I will then sell it. I will not pay WI income tax on profit as I am not a resident.

Good luck selling a property that is not logged correctly by a certified forester. Trees grow very slowly in the state.

there is no broader explanation needed as up to the 1960s lbj era, that wasn't the case.
after lbj, it was and just became worse and worse.

i have no idea why you are trying to justify anything. at times, you and others here are not giving an accurate representation of things, much less wiscsonsin.

but the tree account here, forgot which one stated that wi is politically divisive. um, yeah, it is, but that only comes from the left. I know of nothing that even approached the same level of hatred and intolerance that has been inflicted on conservatives or moderates in wi that has been done to the left in their safe city (madison).

honesty is lacking from the left. Lt. gov Kleifiesch couldn't even have a meeting in madison due to the leftists protesting. and the protests, etc. they went after gov. walker at his home, at work, at hotels, fishing and my favorite, at the special olympics.

that's why i always tell people to check out madison first if they are conservatives.

people wanting to move here should get some honesty and from madison (leftists) that seems to be a rare commodity.

FWIW.

must have missed that gem. guess it wasn't worth reading. sorry, but i'm sure you'll fill in whatever blanks you need to make things work out for you.

the intolerance, the hatred, the control they have. you must have missed that part.

in texas, they have a saying, "if you're big enough, do it". that's empowerment, personal freedom.
granitegirl is an example of why most people don't want to be around leftists. it'll be my next post.

classic example of why states/cities ran by leftists/progressives are the ones that are losing people, but keeping other leftists and wards of the government in their urban pens.

leftists will tell you where you can build, what you can build, what type of windows you can have, the type of door knobs, the type of grass and trees you can have, the type of vehicle you can have, how many miles you are allowed drive per gallon, what type of food you can eat, what type of.....

now some leftists in some government cubicle in madison will tell a person how they can cut down trees on their property 300 miles away. and the leftist executive admin's (obama's) epa will further control back yards even due to the clean water act covering any ponding from rain or runoff......

"the problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money".

and that happens because more and more of the people that produce wealth flee......

I was responding to another poster. Apparently conservation does not equal a conservative belief in your world. It does make good conservation and financial sense. Where is the modern version of Teddy Roosevelt? Oh it doesn't exist, even though he established the National Park system.
You can take your other points over to the politics and other controversies forum as this isn't the correct place to debate off-topic points not relevant to the thread.
