I'm wondering this because of the Packer-Viking rivalry between Minnesota and Wisconsin and the hatred for Illinoisans Wisconsintes have (particularly for Chicagoans). Which do you hate more and why?

I don't hate either. I just feel sad for them both.

I am unaware of any nasty names for Minnesota folks... But do know of one for Illinois people.

Football yes many "hate" the Vikings, and feel sorry for the Bears.

Like the last poster it is more about where you live... For me it has nothing to do with the states themselves, and is more about certain pretentious urban people from big cities coming to rural areas on vacation and acting like they own the place..

Lets just say I got a few choice names for some urban people from SE Wisconsin coming up north too...

I personally "like" most of the Minnesota folks... Maybe because I lived there a few years.. HA! But seriously for me the Minnesota people seem "chill" and nature orientated. More quiet sport types, so they annoy me less when they come here on vacation.

I lived in WI almost all of my life and never once watched a Packers game!

All of my requests to do performance art during the games were denied, too. Even when I offered people cheese. Jerks.

still have family and friends in WI/MN/IL so i'd never make any blanket statements about hating a state. Certain teams perhaps? Oh sure lol.
Seriously, growing up near tourist areas in WI, it was common on one hand to hear complaints about those from south of the border who came up every weekend and crowding it up..... flip side were those who'd complain if they didnt come and spend their $$$.
And lets face it, there are friendly folk all over, and there can be an arse in every state as well.

Oh, come on, when one says they "hate" FIB or Mud Ducks, they aren't totally serious. It's an understanding that it all is just stereotypes and trash talk. It's also a go-to when you get screwed over during the summer season ("Oh, it's those d*** FIB."). On the whole, most Wisconsinites don't dislike a person they are meeting simply because they are from one state or another.

That said, Illinois, I think, is the more hated, and I say that even though I grew up close to the Minnesota border. I also think the Bear-Packer rivalry is stronger.
