It's going to take a lot of determination for me, and probably a Canada Goose snowsuit, but I'll make use of your winter season, yet!
Now your talking...

Maybe an energetic puppy to force you out each day...ha..! Also if you have a choice pick a good walking neighborhood.

it's usually warm enough to have snowmelt in Southern and Eastern WI so a person could go out and exercise or walk along the lake.. this winter was unusually cold. With the proper clothing being outside when it's 35 degrees is no big deal. For those who like to cross country ski, this winter would have been great.

To give you an idea of how below normal we were...

Last month was one of the warmest Januaries ever. No, really

It actually wasn't that below normal here in eastern south dakota... the bubble of cold air was further east than usual, covering you guys in Wisconsin. I for one am tired of the cold, and will probably move at some point.

Family video games are always an option for the long winter months. Nintendo is still fun in moderation!

Meh. Winter is certainly more convenient in the city, by a large factor. You literally never have to stop doing what you do all summer in Milwaukee in terms of amenities, and you don't even need your car if you don't want to drive somewhere. As for outdoor activities, sure - but that goes for pretty much every season.

I'm always amused by this supposedly universal "SAD" thing that I've never experienced in my life.
