My husband and I decided to celebrate our daughter's 3rd birthday in Wisconsin with my family in 2008 and I'm excited! My husband's family from Virginia is also coming up to WI since he has a brother in St. Cloud. My family is in the Manitowoc area. Its been about 8 years since I lived up there.

I remember going to The Farm in Door County as a kid as well as Bay Beach and the Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay. What other places can you suggest to visit that are somewhat close to the Manitowoc/Fon du Lac area? We are really looking forward to this and I want to make the most out of this trip, especially since we're talking about moving back in a few years.

We'll have a little over a week to visit so I hope to make the most out of the trip. Thanks in advance!!!

What does your family like to do on vacation? Are you based in one place?
Are you free to travel around and stay at inns/motels? Are you willing to tent and camp? Do you like indoor activities like museums, or outdoor? Tell us more so we can give useful answers.

Just for starters though. There is the railroad museum in Green Bay, one of the best. There is Lambeau Field in Green Bay, worthy of a trip. There would be a charter fishing trip out onto Lake Michigan, I am sure right out of Manitowoc. There is Door County which you are aware of. The History of Green Bay and De Pere reaches back to the 1600's, so the museums there must be interesting. There are some world famous cheesemakers nearby to Manitowoc in the area of Denmark. All kinds of possibilities for you.

cheers and seasonings!

If you have time a visit to Bayfield/Madeline and Apostle Islands are beautiful. Lake Superior is awesome. May not be warm enough for a swim but it is something to see.
