We took a visit to the West Central Model Railroad, in Sparta, WI yesterday. Shot some good video of it too:

Enjoy!

I really enjoyed the train ride. That is one of the better HO-Layouts I've seen. Keep them coming!

Wow! That was an awesome train layout display! Thanks for sharing the vid clip.
I drove right by Sparta 10 years ago & wish that I'd known about the model railraod at that time.

Glad you shared this with me. My brother and I used to have a HO scale train in our basement complete with a pond, two crossings, and dumper for coal. I might have to make a motorcycle trip up to see this.

I also enjoy the one in Rhinelander.

Josh
What became of your cool layout from your childhood?
Speaking from experience, unfortunately too often a clean out time occurs after a kid leaves home & a parent decides enough is enough & stuff gets liquidated either into the junk heap or given away or sold at a yard sale.
Think of the massive display that could be made out of the combination of cast off trains & layouts!
By the way, using the internet, a train afficionado can find local or regional train expos to attend.

Well Josh, You're in for a treat, because I'm heading over to Rhinelander tomorrow afternoon to video their HO layout for YouTube! Watch for it to be posted over the weekend!

I'm looking forward to it! I won't be able to get back up to Rhinelander for a few weeks when I go up for a week. I may stop again as it's been a few years since I've seen it.

Parents divorced, mom sold the house and the train set was stored somewhere. My mom now lives on a farm with a gigantic barn full of stuff from my brother and I. I think we still have the old engines, we had a BNSF, Burlington Norther, Canadian Pacific-I think?, and an old steam locomotive. I also have a large collection of scaled large construction equipment sitting in the barn. Until my wife and I buy a home it will sit there in the barn. That and I've moved on to my new hobby of riding my Honda GoldWing. I'm thinking I may have to stop in Sparta for this set up.

Be sure you check their web site or contact them before you visit. I believe they are only open to the public one day/night a week unless you make prior arrangements.
