Milwaukee Area: Need to know who I should look into, who I should stay away from. Not a luxury house so none of the fancy luxury homebuilders

You may want to re-post this in the Milwaukee forum. Or ask the moderator to move it for you.

Best wishes on your homebuilding adventure. Be prepared to spend a lot of time meeting with vendors and picking stuff out, and for the building schedule to take longer than you plan for. Many good subcontractors are still in high demand. I will say that location is the most important thing. Pick your school district first and everything else should fall into place. The design of the house you build will be dictated by the lot characteristics too. A lot of variables to consider, but have fun with it. I built in Madison last year and would do it again, but just not for a few years.

I don't know if they build in Milwaukee, but if they do, avoid Veridian like the plague. I've heard Brookstone is just as bad and I am pretty sure they building the Milwaukee metro area.
