Just wondering if anyone belongs to a union that does underwater welding, bridge work, dockbuilding, marine construction, etc.???

If so, where do you work? is your company looking for divers? how much is the pay?

thanks!

I know a guy, but he's all over the country (including out on oil rigs for weeks at a time). He makes a ton, but it's pretty brutal on a family/marriage. If I remember I'll ask if he's in a union or what company employs him etc.

Default divers

My husband is a commercial diver and there is a ton of work in NYC. It is Union- dockbuilders, I believe. They make ridiculous money, and a lot of the guys are from all over. Most of the work is on the FDR, and it's a very long project, with steady money and steady work. It's a prevailing wage job, which means serious cash. You will find that a lot of work can be found in the North East, the West Coast, Texas, Louisiana, and Kentucky.
