Hello all. I am confused why Paul Ryan wants to cut Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. http://fortune.com/2016/11/15/trump-paul-ryan/]Donald Trump: Why Paul Ryan's Social Security Proposal Will Die

For all of us seniors on a fixed income, we voted so we would not be stepped on anymore like the last 2 administrations, which cut our Medicare to fund Obamacare and cut Social Security to pump up military spending.

Were tired of sinking deeper into misery. What did we ever do to Mr. Ryan?

You're severely misinformed. Ryan is proposing reform, which will benefit your Social Security, etc.

Read for yourself...
Social Security | Paul Ryan

Why does Paul Ryan want to throw my grandma off a cliff?

BTW this type of misinformation, hysteria, hyperbole is the reason we have no more conversation in politics anymore. It's sickening on both sides but more so on the democrat side of the aisle. Stop listening to the infowars/brietbart and urban Milwaukee and actually read what the politician is saying and read past bills and watch more c-span. So when you read that Ron Johnson voted against funding for the VA you'll actually know the whole story. Plus go to their websites, listening session, email them asking them to explain their position, look at their voting record and why they voted that way. A yes or no vote on a particular bill is only half the story.

Oh please. The political forum alone shows what liars cons are. The party of click bait. Cons will believe literally anything & when facts are pointed out to them, they willfully ignore it & keep spouting the lies. Brain dead.

Well if you voted for Trump you voted to support cutting all social programs in order to fund massive tax cuts for the top 1-3%...

But you of course knew this before you voted, and seeing as you are upset you must have voted for Hillary!! You would hardly have voted for the Republicans as they have openly stated they wish to reduce federal funding, cut social programs and destroy affordable healthcare.

So did you vote against your own interests? Or did you vote for Hillary and the dems......

It is the Democrats who have been talking about strengthening and increasing Social Security, extending Medicare down to age 55 and widening the financial limitations on Medicaid. The Republicans have long wanted to cut it all, privatize it all, and make the poor and elderly "pull their own weight." If you thought otherwise, you haven't been paying attention. Paul Ryan wants to cut all this because he still believes in trickle down economics - that if you lower the tax burden for the rich and corporations, the benefits will trickle down to the less fortunate. This has been long proven to be a bankrupt idea, but it is still popular, even with those it will hurt. If you think that conservatives want government to care for the poor and elderly, you have been duped.

Cutting Social Security, Medicare, and/or Medicaid is political suicide, and the President-Elect knows it. He has acknowledged this in the past and while there could be some reform, cuts are not going to happen as long as he's in office. Also, any kind of reform likely would NOT affect anyone already on any of these programs or approaching retirement age.

I happen to like Ryan, but he is not the boss. If he wants to call the shots, he can run for president.

He kind of is, since he can control what comes to the floor and even gets a vote. The President doesn't control that.
