It depends on the neighborhood of Chicago (or anywhere) but then criminals visit what is considered safe neighborhoods. There is crime everywhere even in Milwaukee and Racine. But i have lived all over the place and i know where to live so that i am less vulnerable to criminals.. theres areas i dont even go, and theres some areas that i have gone that others wouldn't, like if i want to go to a particular restaurant or have to drive thru that part of town to get to where i need to go.

By the way, i have been in Wisconsin, i was at a concert in downtown Milwaukee, and i also visited the Cheese House on the expressway there, its a huge cheese store near the expressway just across the border from Illinois.

I also stayed in Lake Geneva for a small vacation, and LUV it.. love the trees and environment. Cant wait to go next spring/summer and visit. I am sad to hear about the crime some folks mentioned above in what looks like a good city/town/village in WI. Thats all i know about Wisconsin from actually being there.

Do you mean NW Chicago, or NW IL? If NW IL, then you can't get there from SE WI ...no good, major hyw running NE/SW.

SW WI is beautiful, with rolling hills, pastures & woods-- reminds me of Alpine Europe (except for the no mountains thing). Green County, just W of I-90 along the state line is quaint with Swiss architecture & large Swiss population.... a short jump to NW IL via & I-90/ I-39. Also less than 2 hrs to NW Chicago on I-90.
