I live in Columbus currently, but I have friends in Highland Hts.

Several cons:

1 - The economic climate of the Cinci area is sliding into the drain. The "unofficial" unemployment rate is 18% and I think it's much higher. The crime rate is up, and I'm concerned about riots in Cinci this summer. That's a concern because problems can spill over into the surrounding areas.

2 - The summers can be extremely muggy, with high ozone alerts (pollution).

3 - Morale is also sliding into the drain. It's not particularly a happy place to shop, eat out, or otherwise be entertained.

Pros:

1 - The cost of living on the KY side is fairly low (and getting lower). That means resale values are terrible but if you're planning to stick around, you can get a lot of house for not much money.

2 - If you are a member of a church and your church community is represented, you'll have a built-in social network.

Overall advice: come here and visit for at least three days during the week! Go to the grocery stores where you'd shop and visit as many venues as possible. If you're like most, you'll either want to move to Columbus (the last bright spot in the state) or RUN back to WI.

I'm here because I'm looking into relocation to Sun Prairie.

That is hilarious. Northern Kentucky/Cincy is just as wet as anyplace in Wisconsin. There is an official Hofbrauhaus right on the Ohio river in northern Kentucky.

Since both jobs salary will be almost same (WI has few thousand bucks more), we could not make decision. Is anyone knows both of areas and could give us some idea?

Highland Heights is a close suburb that is just south of Cincinnati. If you live in Kentucky or an UNINCORPORATED area of Hamilton Co. (Anderson), the taxes will be much lower than either WI or MN.

The climate is much more temperate and there is far less snow in that area.

The cost of living (food, housing, etc.) will also favor OH/KY.

yeah reasonable bumping of old threads is one thing but I think they should auto-lock after 12 months of inactivity. I would have picked Ohio, btw.
