Wisconsin Ranked as 11th Best State to Live (subsidized, quality of life)

U.S. News & World Report has released its 2018 "Best States" ranking, and Wisconsin comes in at number 11.

Economy or not, I still prefer Wisconsin and would take a lesser job to be there over California.
11 seems about right, but it's probably a bit higher for me personally.

I lived in both, and moved from CA to WI and don't regret.

Besides, don't forget - CA is not only Los Angeles and San Francisco, it's also huge agricultural land to the north and east of them. (If you ever drove from LA to SF and saw dried fields and angry signs against politicians that prohibit the farmers to use water on their crops (very depressing view lasting for hours), you'd agree WI is better - at least we have plenty of water and woods).

California has a very dark future in terms of drought, water shortages, and warming climate. It isn't a matter of if the next big disaster comes, but when.

Not surprising. The Upper Midwest is fantastic. Wouldnt wanna raise a family anywhere else.

Dried fields because they are trying to grow water needy crops in the desert. It's heavily subsidized and shouldn't be something we do.

It can be a very beautiful state. I enjoyed my brief time living there. SF is an incredible city.
