Am interested in finding a rural property in Kronenwetter that has an acre - maybe a few acres. House doesn't matter that much - just the land as I am an avid gardener and love being outside doing yard work.

Love Friday night Fish Frys - who has the best in the area??

Community is sadly lacking any churches - looking for a United Church of Christ, Congregational - saw one in Wausau but unhappy about having to drive that far to church.

Any hidden gems in the area? Also interested in walking trails. Have been doing research on internet but not a lot of information about Kronenwetter on the net - always comes up "Mosinee" whenever I type in Kronenwetter. Seems to have an identity problem.

Would love any ideas, suggestions to help with the transition.

HI!
Do you have kids? DC Everest and Mosinee are both excellent school. We live in Kronenwetter but in the Mosinee school district. I know the Highland Community Church is really active. They do an outreach service at the Weston-Aspirus Y which is right outside of Kronenwetter. Lots of good fish fries. Loading Zone, Pinewood, Hiawatha just to name a few.
There are some walking trails out by the Weston Y. A great bike trail that goes all the way to Green Bay.
What is your price range for a house, how big etc.
Also the Wausau Daily Herald has a chat board that talks about places to eat etc.

Default Moving to Kronenwetter

Kids are out of the house, price range doesn't really matter, trying to downsize so I don't have to clean a huge house. Thanks for the info on Friday night fish frys. Need enough space for 2 people and fat cat.

You are like us. Kids are also gone. Who knows if they are ever really gone though. We are downsizing from 3600 square feet and our building a house with 1800. Made me get rid of lots of stuff.
Homes with acreage sell pretty fast. Even in the market today. If you look at realtor there are some nice homes on River Oaks. Lots of new construction off of Kowalski road. There is a home with 5 acres on 1100 Oak but it is pretty big. Kronenwetter was a lot bigger but portions got annexed off to Mosinee, Rothschild etc.
Since we do use a Mosinee address you need to look at the desription to see if it is Mosinee or Kronewetter. There is a house on 906 Highway X that is for sale with 19 acres. It says Mosinee but that is Kronenwetter. It is right down the road from where we are building.

EKG 56 - thanks for the info. I was just up there this past weekend, looking for housing. Eyeballed a house out on Nick - neighbors are a little close there but very rural. Also looked at Creek Road - several people have built there and seem to have lots of acres. Will keep looking. Have not registered officially with any real estate agent - our first contact with ReMax was a disaster so are reluctant to make contact with another.
