Let em but chasing with a rifle. Be a real challenge their speed and eye sight in wooded areas.

I would agree with getting a job first--small town northern Wisconsin (and Minnesota, and Michigan) are not always teeming with jobs, even for an in-demand occupation like nursing. Any number of towns would be wonderful, so start looking at places that look interesting, then start applying, then move. Eagle River is beautiful, too. I agree with Rice Lake area, though. Many other places (Hayward, Eagle River, I'm blanking on others) are tourist and summer-home heavy, which ratchets up the housing costs. My parents grew up around Rice Lake--a lot of beautiful, quiet places.

If you want the Big Lake, try Duluth or Two Harbors (nursing jobs in Marquette are pretty competitive for the employee since NMU has a great nursing program and hence a glut of nurses, otherwise I would suggest there). Duluth has four hospitals, so that's why I mentioned that one.

One word of advice. Ton's of boats everywhere. Appleton/Oshkosh/ area would be great. However, nursing jobs may not be so great. My wife's best friend who is also a nurse just got let go, as did a lot of other people in that same area. Look before you leap.
