Now I know some people may disagree with part of this.

Here's my question, what is your favorite Metro area in Wisconsin?
  • Milwaukee: Population 602,782
  • Madison: Population 221,551
  • Green Bay: Population 101,203
  • Kenosha: Population 95,240
  • Racine: Population 85,855
  • Appleton: Population 70,217
  • Waukesha: Population 67,658
  • Oshkosh: Population 63,485
  • Eau Claire: Population 62,570
  • Janesville: Population 61,962
  • West Allis: Population 58,798
  • Sheboygan: Population 51,017
  • La Crosse: Population 50,280
I'd also like to add Wausau even though it's population is less than 50,000
  • Wausau:Population 38,426
With a Metro area of 127,733.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So What city is your favorite any why?

My Favorite would have to be tie with Madison & La Crosse, with Milwaukee in second.

I love Appleton/Oshkosh area. I have family in Appleton and have great childhood memories of going there for Christmas and other holidays to spend time with cousins and whatnot. We have great friends in Oshkosh and visit any chance we get. Thankfully my husband's company is based in the Appleton area and he has to go for meetings quite a bit. Great chance for us to see family and friends. When we do get to moving back to Wisconsin, it will be the Appleton area. I'm hoping this is sooner then later.

None, except for Milwaukee. I'd rather be in Rhinelander or Washington Island outside of Milwaukee.

I like Madison for the most part. The only parts I really don't like are the cost of housing and the tendancy of the community to be turning into a "nanny state." It really seems that, in the past 20 years, Madison governing bodies have decided that they really MUST make decisions for every part of their citizens' lives and it is quickly becoming partially laughable and partially unbearable.

Madison is definitely the best city in Wisconsin. The economy is always doing well, there is a high quality of living, and it is a great place to be whether you are single or if you want to raise a family.

I like Milwaukee. Maybe because I am originally from Chicago it reminds me of Chicago. Gritty but great old neighborhoods. Love the lake. I like exploring the restaurants. Summerfest and the State Fair are great reasons for us to visit again this summer.

La Crosse, smaller metro than Madison or Milwaukee, but a lot to do with the Bluffs and the river nearby. Downtown is boisterous with all the bars, but there is a bar for everyone there. Riverfest in the summer is a blast and Octoberfest in the fall is fun as well.
