Hi,
I was wondering if there are any cute small towns in Wisconsin that are similar to towns on the west coast of Michigan. I drove up the coast of Lake Michigan on the MI side, and really liked the towns of South Haven, Holland, Grand Haven etc. They don't have to be on Lake Michigan, just in general any cute smaller cities or towns in WI that are like those!

Thank you!!

Port Washington is the main one that comes to mind.

Wisconsin has a lot of cute towns, that's one of the reasons we like it, but the cities right along the lake are more hit and miss for some odd reason. In Wisconsin, large body of water doesn't automatically translate into most expensive or sought-after area and I may never understand why. I shouldn't complain because it's one of the very few places in the country I can afford to live so close to something like that and still be in a really nice area.
Algoma and Kewaunee are nice but very small.
Two Rivers isn't bad although it's a town of 11,000 that seriously feels like it has only 2000 if you're just going on it's downtown and retail situation. It looks okay for the most part. Two Rivers is adjacent to Manitowoc which might be why it has hardly any retail or dining of it's own. Still, it just seems odd to have so little. Nice lakefront there.
Manitowoc has some nice residential areas but it's downtown is nothing to write home about, and doesn't have the most attractive lakefront.
Sheboygan does a really good job with its lakefront and downtown.
Port Washington is really nice all around.
Inland there are more choices. Most of the state has spiffy small towns.
On Lake Superior, there's Bayfield which is a nifty tourist town.

Egg Harbor and Sturgeon Bay in Door County, Stevens Point, Bayfield, Red Cliff- by Lake Superior. I like the Northwoods towns with lots of lakes such as: Manitowish Waters, Presque Isle, Boulder Junction, Phelps, Eagle River, etc. If you like lakes, there are over 1,300 in Vilas County alone.

When I think of "cute towns," the first two that come to mind are Cedarburg and Mineral Point. Both are art-oriented and charming.
Plymouth is cute, as is Elkhart Lake.

Towns in Door County such as Sister Bay, Ephraim, Ellison Bay, etc. Egg Harbor and Fish Creek. I like the SW Michigan towns and they have better beaches. However I prefer Door County because its cooler there and I can't take hot weather. Also the northern part of Door County has a more interesting coast line and more wilderness type parks and areas.

Thanks! I like the towns in Door County a lot, however I think they feel a bit more tourist than SW Michigan towns.
