I live in Il and am considering relocating to Eau Claire. What areas should I look at houses? Love to play Pickleball, hike and do volunteer work. I’m a single senior with a big dog. Use to have a cabin in Hayward. Love the change of seasons. Like snowshoeing and skiing. Thanks for your help.

The East Side Hill neighborhood is outstandingand is regularly voted the best in Eau Claire. Relatively close to downtown, grocery stores, parks. You would be about a mile from a pickleball court. All kinds of places to hike around EC and near EC, so that would fit your lifestyle. In town, Lowes Creek County Park has ski/mountain bike trails. About 8 miles east of town, Tower Ridge has ski trails, some of which are also lighted.

If you don't want to be in town, I particularly like the area south of the city, off of Lowes Creek Road. It's rolling, lightly-traveled, wooded, etc.
