I looked him up after reading the following article,
https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/n...y-comeback-bid but I could find nothing about his political views. Anyone have a link? Wikipedia's entry was VERY scant, to say the least.

QUOTE FROM ABOVE, my italics:

"Thompson floated the idea of running for his old post in February and met with Trump in Mar-a-Lago in Florida earlier this month. He decided against running after meeting with another possible candidate, businessman Tim Michels. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported last week that the meeting was to discuss which of them should enter the race, though Thompson brushed off the speculation."

Kinda of Ron Johnson before Ron Johnson but he lost so never became Ron Johnson, not in political beliefs but more of a outsider unknown kinda guy with lots o money. Just like hiring an employee, you never really know until they start by doing the job so for newcomers you have to take them at the word before you can judge their actions. It's a slot pull.

He sounds awful from the little I've read about him. He owns a 17 million dollar mansion in Connecticut, as well as a home in Manhattan, & his kids went to high school in NY City.

"confirmed that he has lived about half the time in Manhattan and Connecticut, where his children attended schools, since 2013, He said that for all but one of these nine years he lived at least 183 days in his Wisconsin home, to maintain residency, both for voting and paying taxes, even though the family was still living on the East Coast. “We probably could have moved back [to Wisconsin] a few years ago,” Michels said in the interview, but the family did not want to disrupt their daughter’s senior year in high school. However, she graduated from a New York high school in 2019. Has the family now moved back to Wisconsin? That’s not clear."

Please Republicans, pick a better governor candidate.

I don't like someone from Connecticut to run things here in Wisconsin. East Coasters are all liberals anyway

Not all areas of the East Coast are similar at all. Maine is still different compared to the Tri State area.

Dude lives near New York City, and is running to represent Wisconsin. He also wants to outlaw abortion even in the case of rape and incest. That is not a winning position in the midwest.

Thanks to all who answered.

From the responses, I agree that he does NOT sound like a good candidate!

Thank goodness we didn't elect him last night. I was nervous for a bit. Now he can fly back to his mansion in Connecticut or NY.

The red / blue maps always show the true flavor of this state. I seriously believe that Wisconsin voters would reelect Biden if he ran yesterday.
