Hello, my wife is a longtime employee of the UW, and we get our health insurance through the State of Wisconsin Group Health Insurance Program (i.e., the Dept. of Employee Trust Funds). We will both turn 65 next year and I am investigating the health insurance options available through the State Group Program for people covered by Medicare. In particular, I'm trying to decide whether to go with the group UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage program or the group "Medicare Plus" program (which will be offered through UnitedHealthcare in 2023).

If you are a retired State of Wisconsin or UW employee and have used either of these programs, I'd very much like to hear about your experience with them -- good, bad or in between.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

No idea. I’d boycott hospitals if I were 65. Is Medicare Plus something that was legislated, or is it just a profit trap for life-long non-vegetarians?
