People from Illinois are fine, but being right next to one of the nation's largest cities certainly detracts from the experience of living in Wisconsin if you have no desire to ever go to Chicago. Like me: been there, done that... meh.
They can overwhelm places like Lake Geneva and Door County to the point I'd rather avoid those at all costs.

Perhaps having to pay to get into the state parks cuts down on those crowds a little.
I know I've been known to go 50-100 miles out of my way to avoid their goofy toll roads in Illinois. It wasn't so bad when you could just pay cash on the spot and forget about the experience for the rest of your natural born life. Whoever came up with the idea of paying highway tolls online should be ... (enter the worst thing you can think of here).

I for one don't miss having to stop every 10 miles for no reason, and I sure don't miss having traffic backed up all the way to to Beloit on the way home from a holiday weekend.
