Buy listerine and put it in a spray bottle. It DOES work. Our home has a large pond and even with all are noisey frogs feasting on them, there are plenty of skeeters this year. We spray ourselves and our patio furniture. I wouldnt have believed it if I hadnt tried it myself.

Out west you don't have to deal with mosquitos & certain areas don't even have flies. Very mild outdoors.

I've yet to find a state park in WI that doesn't have 10 million more mosquitos than people. I suppose it's because of all the water-- our beautiful parks are the perfect breeding grounds. The best park I've been to, mosquito wise, is Pattison State Park, just south of Superior. They also have some beautiful waterfalls!!

Thanks for mentioning Pattison. I see they also have some trails I can run on, so I'll have to check it out. I'm planning to camp at the national forests at night & spend days visiting state parks. State park camping fees are too expensive. $24 - 27 a night!

Tried, tested and YES, it does actually work. Just make sure you don't get it on wood.

I stopped at Devils Lake last night and the skeeters were bad. I must have been bit about 15 times. I'm a little itchy today.

Keep those spiderwebs up and around your house, they help!

Does any 'flavor' of Listerine work or just the original. Do you feel sticky after you apply it? It is still 'technically' chemical but worth a try. Skin So Soft and other such things never worked for me. The mosquitoes aren't too bad around here right now. We got a lot of rain but then it has been so dry since that they must never have hatched. We are going camping in a couple weeks so if we can do the Listerine there it would be nice vs having Deet on for 3 straight days.

We put up a few of those Off lanterns in our yard and noticed a definite improvement... but it is not like we want to drag them everywhere... so for hiking we immerse ourselves in bug spray. I am curious about the Listerine now. So... I await the answer to "is it sticky?" with baited breath!
For now, with the lanterns, it is nice to be able to sit and roast marshmallows. Our neighbors have some drainage issues... so it is basically a mosquito nursery around us!

Was wondering same if had to be a certain one or could go with Citrus and such. I need this advice as planning on building a elevated tree stand in big woods and skeeters tried flying away with me when put trail cam up.

Just buy regular Listerine and pour it into a spray bottle. Spray the deck, around windows and door frames (don't get it on the door mind). It'll keep the little buggers away. You don't spray it on yourself.
