It's been a while since I created a thread that is somewhat meaningless. jk

Anyways I went to Green Lake today and this got me in the mood to ask the following. If you had unlimited financial resources what Wisconsin lake would you choose to live on? You'd be given 250' of frontage... You can have any size home you want. From an 800 square foot cozy cottage to a 5,000 square feet lodge. The lot would be three acres. With the option of a slope for a walkout basement.

Here's the choices for lakes
-Lake Wisconsin
-Big Green Lake
-Castle Rock Lake
-Lake Petenwell
-Lake Winnebago

Which Lake would you choose and why? I'd have to say Big Green Lake, the setting, the downtown et cetera. It's so ideal for a getaway. I was told the Oprah had a place on Green Lake as well as Patrick Swayze, not sure if that's true or not?

I'd have to choose a lake up in Northern Wisconsin. Somewhere close to but not in Minoqua. We stayed on a great lake last year. Bass Fishing was good and so was the boating.

Superior is the ultimate lake.
For myself, anyway.

I have been to Winnebago, Petenwell, and Castle Rock, but not to Green or Wisconsin Lake. None of the three I've been to impressed me much. I like the Chain of Lakes in Waupaca but I don't know if I would want to live there. Too much traffic on the weekends. I think I will have to go with Hankejp, a nice size lake farther up north, good for boating and fishing.

Oh, I know he's not Oprah, but we have Fuzzy Thurston on the Chain! I used to see him almost every day. I went into King yesterday to pick up some bait, and here Thurston doing his daily walk.

I voted for Winnebago because I grew up in Menasha.

I'm not too picky Josh, I would be more than happy with almost any northwoods lake. Oneida county, Vilas, whatever. I'll even let you choose one for me!

Too derisive of a list Josh! There are just too many lakes in Wisconsin and when you have a favorite, nothing else will do! For me, none of the southern lake will do, so I can't vote for you. My ultimate lake will always be Superior.

No biggie. Lake superior isn't truly a lake, it's a Great Lake!
