I will be on his side for the two games this year against the Pack. Hopefully he beats the pants out of them. The Vikes can proceed to lose all of the rest of their games.

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm perfectly fine with the guy we have running the ship. I see Rogers being there for the next decade, and again, I'm good with that. Were the Packers stupid for parting ways? Maybe, but at some point, they needed to address the future so they did what they had to do. I do recall a teary eyed drama queen telling Packer nation that it was over. The team re-tooled and moved on. At that point, what should they have done? Got on their knees and begged. Please. Calling the Packers stupid and self-righteous is just silly. The Packers were there long before Favre and will continue on long after he finally does retire. If that day does ever come. And when that day does come, it will be any ones guess as to what team will be his last.

Have fun with this Viking fans. October 5th can't get here fast enough for me!

The Packers problems last season had nothing to do with the QB position. It had more to do with a defense that couldn't cover a lampost, and a running game that was almost non-existant, and a coaching staff that came up with questionable game plans and adjustments. QB was the least of their worries

It was just reported that the Vikings are expecting $4500 from the Federal Government turns out Favre qualifies for the cash for clunkers program.

One man does not make a team, he is not what everyone makes him out to be in their minds, he is just an aging football player who did great things. His day in the sun is over, he should have just gone out on a high note, rather than all the hype.

Considering all the stuff they had ready, rather suspicious if you ask me. Two weeks ago he says, no, not going to happen, then this great grand stand Vikings call once more and o.k. now I will. And all the Brett Purple stuff is already out there, please it is so pathetic and old, more than time to move on and Rogers did show he is capable, defense stunk but he was fine.

Time for fans to rethink the whole athlete fan relationship. The athlete wants what's best for him
and the fan wants what's best for the fan. Packers fans think Favre owes them something because they always "supported" him, but if he was throwing ten tds and 20 ints they would have booed him right out of town. It's easy to supports someone who's having a Hall of Fame career. Forget the special athlete/fan relationship, it's a sham. Everyone's out for themselves.

Yes, it sucks that it is the Vikes and I have to lick my 7 yr old out for wearing a Favre Vikes jersey, but that's life in the NFL. They all like attention, and the media's just feeding his ego.

I'm not gonna read this whole thread, but I'm curious about the "tarnished legacy" theory. IMO, OJ Simpson has a tarnished legacy, and Vick too...a player who can't decide whether to retire or not really isn't as horrible as all that.

A person doesn't achieve the kind of success BF has without being a tad arrogant and more than a tad driven.

The media has made a whole lot more of this than the principle players have. If they'd have just ignored it until there was actually something real to report, this would have been in the news about 10% of the time that it was.
