First, not sure why you needed to start two threads on the same subject

Second, the threads below should get you started on gathering opinions/info about Ladysmith; let us know if you have further questions.

ladysmith is a very nice city for retire people, we have lot of old people live here, and the heart of becautiful flambeau lake is located in ladysmith, summer for fishing, winter for snowmobile, I live in ladysmith, not too much for young people, because not many shopping and entainment place for only over 3000 population, the closed bigger city for shopping is rice lake which is half hour for driving. But I think it is good choice for retiring people

Nice to meet you, Gussie! My husband and I bought property nearby in Imalone. We are unsure right now if we plan to retire there, or will use it as a place to live May-October. The fishing, peacefulness and beauty drew us in-we have a few wooded acres on the Chippewa. But for someone who is over 50, I can tell you there is a hospital in Ladysmith, a good butcher in Weyerheuser, a pretty park on the riverfront, some nice local cafe's. And if you like to hoist a few, Glory B's in Bruce is a very friendly place.
Minnesconsinite is right, Dreamhunter lives there and can go into detail.

Gussie and I had many long talks and even looked at houses for her. Everything looked at was either already bid on or just not what they were looking for. They settled in Michigan now but supposed to come visit this summer.
