I found this in another city forum-California-because the title caught my eye: Are Californians Dumb?

Well, someone provided the link for a study that ranked the intelligence of all the states. Not sure how authentic it is, but it made me giggle and was interesting.

Average IQ Score by State (http://www.top50states.com/average-iq-score.html - broken link)

I see New England has 4 of the top 5, not surprising. I'm also not surprised that WI made the top 10. There are excellent schools here.

Interesting that 13 of the bottom 20 are the reddest of the red states.

Add to that the bottom 13 are all southern states

I guess I always thought that midwestern states had the upper hand in education. Maybe IL isn't up there. I don't know anymore there is to many statistics out there so I don't know who to believe.

If I had to guess it would be Chicago's school system that brings the numbers down for Illinois. Not that they are all bad.
