I just checked and the Wisconsin Herald just recently reported that Wisconsin residents make up 51% of Wisconsin tourism not 92 % I am a Wisconsin resident and although there are so many place to go and do we usually sit on our deck and admire the tranquility and beauty watching the hummingbirds and our dogs roll in the cool grass gonna barbecue chicken and fresh corn today maybe make a little fresh broccoli salad also need to pick fresh asparagus and rhubarb today .

^ Right, 92% is just plain false. I grew up in Door County and we used to count license plates as kids (hey, it's boring to be 10 and car-less in northern DC!) and generally it would be around 50/50 IL-to-WI. Lots of MN, some MI/FL/TX, and all kinds of stragglers from around the country. Dells is similar, Lake Geneva, Devil's Lake, all the most-visited spots in the state are packed with (especially) Illinois/Chicagoland.

The number is bound to be high, however, because it's a varied and beautiful state (certainly by Midwestern standards, though I would argue for it regardless of the region) and we have a long tradition of conservation & preservation. We also tend to like other Wisconsinites more than "outsiders."
