How will the job market evolve in the next decade? As we approach the Labor Day weekend, Fortune takes a look at some of the fastest growing professions in the U.S.
Yeah. Nursing and computer science will lead the new decade in growth. These fields are already outsourced and oversaturated. Besides, not everyone wants to go into these 2 fields or can. Creativity cannot be replaced by outsourcing or a computer.
Computer science is not oversaturated. The dotcom bust shook out a lot of the dead leaves and the outsourcing thing has never been enough to outstrip growing internal demand.
Nurses are always going to be in demand because it's not a glorious job. It's usually the jobs that no one wants until they have worked long enough to get past those tasks.
Secondly, healthcare is always booming. You can almost always find a job doing something in healthcare, whether it be a reception position, PA, doctor, nurse, lab tech, dental, etc... Healthcare has been and will remain one of the top fields to work in. The work is plentiful and the pay in most cases isn't horrible.
