Hi everyone,

Nice forum you have here. I'm learning a lot. I'm 33 and fresh out of college and looking for my first real job. (Don't ask... )

I was really excited to hear back from my thank you email from my most recent interview (for a research assistant position).

They said they appreciated my enthusiasm for the position and that I seemed motivated to work in the field. They also said that they're checking references and I'll hear back from them by the end of this week.

So, I don't have to write them back right? Wouldn't that be overkill? I already said everything I wanted to basically in the original email. I just don't want to seem conceited or whatever because I was really excited that they wrote back and hope to continue developing the working relationship.

I wouldn't write back to this one, but if you come to Tuesday or Wednesday of next week and if you have not heard from them, I would send an email just gently probing.
