I only have $300 to my name and I am behind on my rent. I need to find work. I've looked everywhere and no luck. This makes me so mad.

I'm getting to old for this crap.

Will work, willing to travel. Serious replies only.

Would you be willing to pick strawberries for $8/hour?
Work at a car wash drying and detailing cars?
Dig ditches?
Trim trees?
Mow lawns?

More than likely, they are just talking, like MOST folks on CD.

Good luck to you.

Yea just another attempt by Charles trying to degrade the unemployed for not taking any job that doesn't exist. Charles seems good at this in past talks.

OP, where do you live? That could make a huge difference in "best places to find work," and if you're in California I might have a few ideas.

You have to know HOW to trim trees and mow lawns. It's more than just handing someone shears and telling them to "trim". I was asked to cut limbs with a chain saw once, and not only did I not know how to start it, it was taken away from me when it looked like I was going to amputate my foot. I've never worked a lawnmower either, and wouldn't know how to start it. You can't always assume that everyone knows how to do these tasks, and can do it well enough to earn money at it.

Can we have some information-what kind of work are you looking for? What was your last occupation? Where do you live?

Yeah, I would officially SUCK at gardening-type work! I'm a total city girl, so I've never even touched a lawnmower or shears... and with my bad back & knees, I'd probably get stuck while kneeling over to weed. Besides, most people around here get their gardeners in front of Home Depot - if you know what I mean.
