One week in December, on a schedule that goes Sun. thru Sat., I have a Wednesday off, however my other day off is something weird like this, I work 4 hours on one day and then 4 hours on the other day....along with my regular days off (8 hours)....so I'm working 6 days at 40 hours a week....
if you're a full time employee, is this legal, to split a day off like that....
if it is, a employer can make you work for about 6.5 hours a day, for 6 days a week.....it's still 40 hours (or just under it).
which seems extremely twisted....

No one can make you work that schedule. You're free to tell the boss to shove it and find another job.

there is no law requireing an employer to only work you 5days for 40 hours a week. they could set it up at 7 work days and only 40 hours. such is life. those evil employers.

Its one week and its close to Christmas so that may be part of it. If it was going to be a permamnet change I'd make a stink but otherwise just deal with it.

No, they can't force you to do so but I don't think it is illegal.
