I've known people who work an excessive number of hours a week, and they don't need the extra jobs, or money, they're extremely driven individuals, workaholics.
And if you're a workaholic, then you have a problem, which may or not be treatable with a 12-step program.
Or how about spending some time on the Frugal Living forum on Cd.com.
I've known people who complain excessively about working more than the minimum number of hours a week, and they only work as much as they do for money, they're extremely lazy individuals and hate their job but like to live in comfort.
And if you're a lazy person with no drive, then you have a problem, which may or not be treatable with a self-help book.
Or how about spending some time thinking about why your continue to do a job you hate and only do because it pays for your mediocre lifestyle?
I'd rather someone talk about how they work more then usual on facebook instead of about how their annoying newborn just learned how to stare at something for 3 mins at a time.
Here we go again with TVSG mocking those he sees as less fortunate than himself. Let's see, TVSG. You work one little job which doesn't pay a lot. You have virtually no savings, no car, live in a rental apartment, walk to work, can't afford to spend money on dates, have to create a thread when your TV starts to break down and you're not sure whether to buy a new one on credit or use up your savings, fuss about buying new summer clothes and, well, the list is endless.
If you dragged yourself off the couch and from in front of either the computer or TV screen and worked a couple of hours in the evenings and one weekend day totaling, say, 20 hours you could easily pull in an extra $7-$800 per month. It's not always a case of working extra hours "to get by" but to "live better". Good grief, your comments are just so unsavory at times. Next time you're unemployed don't come grizzling here as you won't get a lot of sympathy.
When people wonder how an immigrant family from Bangladesh can arrive in America with a language barrier and no real marketable job skills but within one generation own a profitable business and have children entering medical school... see facebook 4-job person.
Hard work is a sacrifice that pays rewards, I wouldn't want to be working 4 jobs but I say good for this person if they can do what they need to do to accomplish their goals. Hopefully it won't be a permanent situation.
