I do wonder though how often people get pushed a thread by CD and respond without realizing the thread is years old? I know I've done it. I'll click on one of those recommended threads and it sounds interesting and respond. Only to find the thread was dead for years. And then feel stupid for having done so.

This advice may be helpful for others in this same situation, even now.

Every now and then a random exchange student posts here asking some flavor of the same question.
