I don't know how I missed this post! I'm a paralegal. I am currently employed as a legal asst. in an IP firm. I just posted about it too. I'm drowning in work and worried I can't do this for the long-term. It's only been 4 months but feels like 4 years. Or 40 years. I'm just exhausted and unsure and insecure in my work. My past experience was litigation, did that for 15 years. This is a new field to me (patent prosecution) and I was hoping it'd be fun and gratifying, but what it's turning into is non-stop work that makes me ill sometimes. ugh.

Considering taking the training. Currently have a BS in Earth & Environmental Studies, but working for the government in building code enforcement and acting as their liaison to the courts. I figure the certificate and legal training could be valuable, especially since I could receive free education through our union. It would also be a test run for whether I decide to pursue law school down the road after the kids are in school and I have more time

Hey there! I'm a paralegal, have been for about 9 years now. I have worked at 3 different law firms in 3 different areas of law, the most being Personal Injury. I currently run my own paralegal business full-time.

If anyone has any questions I'll be more than happy to try and assist.

Maybe because it was started in 2007? Someone resurrected a dead thread, so it popped back up.
