Visit the governmentjobs.com website.

There are all sorts of jobs opening on here in state governments across the country. Most of the jobs pay a minimum of $13-17/hr starting with union benefits and the qualifications aren't egregious either (some require only a HS Diploma and a max some form of "training"). All of the openings are current too.

If you have the money to attend these testing sessions and relocate, there's no reason not to apply for these and see where they go (most Civil Service Exams are general typing tests and/or Multiple Choice tests, about 2 hours long). Just follow all directions and submit a complete application with all of the relevant experience.

I would post some of the job ads themselves, but I know for sure that would be against TOS. But just search through the site in your spare time.

Yeah, I believe usajobs.gov is just federal government jobs.

governmentjobs.com is all state government job openings.
