I am currently studying to take the real estate exam and get my real estate license. Right now though I am having second thoughts about getting it as when I start off I heard it's hard to make any money, competition is fierce and I would need to cover most of my costs. Although the housing market has recently picked up and most realtors may be doing better I wanted to get others' perspective on this who have already started off.
Currently, I am working as an administrator in a company and was hoping for a change of career.
Rough at first as you'll be learning the ropes and also building your business. If you are good, you'll be able to live on it in about 6months to a year but real estate can be up and down.

This line here describes most careers. I don't know of any that have little competition and tons of cash flowing right away.
