I Applied to this job for an entry level staff Accountant. She emailed me and asked if I could come in tomorrow at 2PM for an interview. I responded yes. She responded see you at 2Pm tomorrow and please bring your college diploma. Oh and btw this is my 1st interview with this company.

The reason I ask is most cases I heard of they only verify education if they are about to hire you.

You heard wrong. It is a quick and easy way to weed out people who don't have the creds they are loking for.
