I've often heard this line by people opposed to increasing minimum wage to fifteen bucks an hour.
This might actually sound ridiculously silly, but I think many of those who say this CAN'T do minimum wage jobs, not because they are incapable of folding clothes, buttering bagels, shelving books, cashiering, and so on, but because they can't do it for whatever other reason. Despite being VERY low skilled jobs, they can't do them.
I believe most of them CANNOT be a waiter or bartender. Those are jobs most can't do, even if they are low skilled.
My sisters store (she is a retail cashier) has 200 applications on file, and the majority, per the managers, are perfectly acceptable, just waiting for openings to occur.
Now granted they would need their 20 minutes of training to be 100% capable, but ........

Waiter and bartenders are more specialized roles in the food service industry than a counter employee at Mickey D's or a cashier at a convenience store. They require more public interaction and far greater amounts of social skills. They should be (but aren't) paid for these skill sets.
Jobs which require strong backs and the ability to follow simple directions are low skill positions and it's hard to justify paying people too much for them.
