Hey everyone,

So I had an interview exactly two weeks ago for a RN spot. I am a new grad, interview went fairly well, and the manager gave me her card. I have tried to contact the recruiter, email, voice-mail...nothing. My application status is still "in review" and I am starting to think that I didn't get the job.

How long does it take to hear back after an interview whether you received the job or not? Should I email the manager asking when I should hear back from the recruiter? Two weeks seems to be a long time to hear back about a job.

Thanks.

Most companies do not spend time to call, and say you did not get the job.
They only call if they want you ... Keep looking ! ! !

Time varies, I've had an offer at the end of an interview as well as a month later. All you can do is wait for someone to contact you back.

I don't think you are out of the running just yet. Maybe they're interviewing others before they make a decision and if the others don't stand out, they'll give you the offer. If you think the interview went fairly well, I'm sure the hiring manager also thinks the same.

Varies as other's have said. Expect anywhere from 1 day - 1 month to hear back from HR. Keep in mind if you are not hearing back at all (as in the HR contact is not even asking for updates on your end) and the longer you are waiting, the less likely you are going to get the job. But there are ALWYAS exceptions. This is just what I've found in my experience.

It also depends on the stage of interviewing. If after a phone interview you do not hear back in a month, consider yourself out of the running. This is not necessarily so with first interviews, especially. After a first interview, people may not hear back for a week or two, which I've seen is normal. I waited a few weeks to receive my soon-to-be job's offer, but they were in constant communication with me.

I concur. If they project the waiting time to be a lot longer than expected then they'll keep in touch. Those recruiters who seem to be out of the office 24/7? You probably didn't get the gig. If you are "the one" they'll act like your best friend. If not, they'll go M.I.A. on your asss before a blink of an eye.

I waited over a month with the hope that I would hear back one way or the other but boy was I wrong. I should've listened to the people here. But it's easier said than done especially when this particular company was the only one who was willing to give me an opportunity to interview. The other apps I've sent out? I'm guessing they're too busy looking for the people with 3+ yrs of experience. So I had 1 possible job as a source of hope and the way I found out was because the job was taken off their website. Here I am now sending out a half dozen resumes with the hopes that one of them might give me a call. Then I can spend a few hours researching about a company that I probably won't work for anyway. Then, I can spend the next month or so asking people if I still stand a chance. Can't wait.

I called her office again. She is now on vacation for the next week! Really?

Sighs.

It sucks for sure, but most companies do not let you know you don't get the job. Keep looking!!

Just keep calling until your u catch her in the office. Don't send any more email or leave any more voicemails. Try calling from a friends phone. It works all the time

Keep in mind the hiring isn't exactly a top priority on their end. Things do not stop technically. Having said that there's no real solid reason why something takes a given period of time.
