I have relocated to the DFW Area and have been looking for a job in Purchasing since the begining of October. So far I have had severl job interviews but no offers? I'm very confused as I have NEVER in my life had this problem. Anyone have any thoughts for me? Anywhere I should be looking or doing?

I have a few questions:
What market did you work in before? I know you said Purchasing but for whom did you do the purchasing?
Is your resume basic or just leaning toward that market?
Can you do other things besides purchasing and is that obvious in your resumes?
How are your interviewing skills? If you are getting through the door w/your resume, cover letters, and get an interview, then maybe you need to brush up on the interviewing.
Are you sending letters after the interviews to confirm what was said and to show how interested you are in the job?

We are having the same problem. I think there is just too much competition and too few jobs anymore. My husband applied for job recently and was told it had 161 applicants and the job required a Master's degree! I applied for a library job and was selected for an interview but told they had 90 applicants for this one position! That's just nuts! Do we have too many people looking for jobs or what? This has never happened to us before either. And we have one month of unemployment left. Not sure how we are going to eat and live after that. The closest thing my husband has came to a job offer is a part time, as needed position that is entry level. That is just pathetic as he has years of experience. That is part of the problem anymore, employers want who they can get the cheapest, not the best. Our attitude in the country has gone from quality to quantity.
