Since my last few jobs have been open plans with a table only I ususlly bring a pencil cup, water bottle, favorite mug, 1-4 other items - right now it is an @ symbol and this mini piece of art I picked up on vacation. When I had an office I had more stuff.

The past few years I have had lots of jobs, but my professional career is 9. I work in tech do it is common to make a move every 18-24 months. It has been a bit more frequent for me over the past few years - 3 jobs in roughly 3 years.

Lol. Thank you for calling out my typo.

I enter the office with the intent of intimidating the crowd. I let them know who's the boss, and it ain't Tony Danza. They WILL respect me!

Try marking your territory. Find the best cube, and then pee on the corner. That way everyone will know it's yours.

Bring plenty of cigarettes. Never turn your back on anyone.

Making fun of jade408 because I like her.

I'd save the jobshave for the bear.

Seriously, I will have done a trial-run drive to the office, usually as close to worktime on a workday if I can, to make sure I have a good idea of what might go wrong.

I'd bring in at least two pens and a notepad. No personal items for awhile, and even then--minimal.

I bring my bong into work, pack a fat bowl, and light it up right in the middle of the office. Shows everyone I'm a renegade; I don't care about the rules. Also shows my new coworkers that I'm calm and easy to get along with.

Gets me massive office cred every time.

I do the test drive too so I know roughly how long it takes to get there and also where I can park. Saves stress on the first day and keeps me from being late.

This. Who has a cube or office anymore. Just tables from C suite on down.
