I am thinking of enrolling at my local cc in this program. is this program worth it as far as availability of jobs, pay, etc? I eventually plan on getting a bachelors. My second choice is an associates in accounting. Thanks for your time.

Define what you mean by "worth it"? I'd say it would if it met your expectations. But you haven't really indicated what your expectations are. A guaranteed job? To be better educated so you have the insight to make career decisions? To simply know more than you did before you started?
Personally, I would say no, it probably isn't worth it. Problem is that what will it prepare you to do? Sounds like it'll give you broad strokes that'll go over things like HEDIS, HIE, PHI, HIPAA, etc. But so what? Will it give you any real knowledge or teach you any skills that are marketable and that the industry really wants?
Here’s one way to find out – consider which positions you may apply for or be qualified for after the education. Look online for some postings. See what they call for. Compare that with the most detailed curriculum description you can get your hands on.
It sounds too broad and general to me to get meaningful real world results from it. At least with an AA in accounting you can try for an entry level bookkeeping role while getting more education and working towards a CPA.

Accounting is really disgusting. It sucks !
The program you are talking about is a step in a career directions. I work as a software engineer and I have a masters. You really do need a bachelors in this word.
You can get a technical support job and since the job market is good right now, you can probably find one while going to school.

What if you have a bachelors before you obtain the AA in health information technology?
Similar to what g-fused said, I would look at job postings for careers that you would like to have and see what the requirements are. That might help you decide if that associates degree is worth it.
