About a month ago, he wanted to meet to discuss what I accomplished since our annual review and try to get me a promotion. He did it for his previous employees who I replaced after this amount of tenure under him.
Fast forward a month and we still haven't had another discussion about this. I tried to bring it up and asked when he wants to meet to discuss this last week but he said he's good and doesn't need any additional information from me. If I appear more pushy, he'll probably withdraw from this even more. Do I just forget about it and pretend it won't happen?
Tell him you would like to set up monthly one on one meetings to make sure you are making progress and are meeting expectations. Set up the meetings yourself and create your own short meeting agendas.
In a lot of companies, it takes longer than a month for a manager to get you a promotion. He may have to wait till the promotion and salary raise, is budgeted in. Or for numerous other reasons. By keeping bugging him about getting the promotion right now, is a way for him to say to heck with you, and not working with you to get a promotion.

I remember when I was "Promoted" I got to do the dirty work for 3 months THEN I got the title and pay increase (Retro from 3 months ago, what a paycheck!)
