My husband is a restaurateur and I'm a realtor and our workweek is Wednesday through Sunday so we work every weekend.

Holidays also.

The upside is the things we do on our days off, Sunday night through Wednesday afternoon, have no lines, waits, or are crowded.

Standard office hours. I sometimes choose to work on a weekend when I want to get something specific done, but it's 100% at my discretion and never, ever any expectation. Unpaid of course, since I'm on salary, but I can also come and go during the week if I need to for doctor's appt, event at my kid's school, etc. so it all balances out.

Just curious
I have weekends off (I'm planning to petition the Boss and Supervisor for a change in schedule) instead of Mon-Sat and make it Sun-Fri so as to give us a "Friday" for fun....

Oh, Print test operator....

Used to work Walmart...Rare was the time I got the weekend off.

I have two Saturdays and one Sunday off a month, generally.
I used to have two of each.

I work in pharma, so yeah, I end up working weekends a lot. I spend about 20 hours a week in largely pointless meetings, so I have to do work at some point.

My job is nominally Mon-Fri 8 AM - 5 PM. We sometimes have to work overtime. When I have a choice, I prefer to work my overtime Mon-Fri after working hours. Even if I have to stay past midnight, I prefer that rather than coming in on the weekend. Unfortunately, most of my colleagues prefer working weekends rather than staying late. A few of them (not most) work 7 days a week nearly every week of the year. If I am working on a project that involves working closely with such people, I am forced to conform to their schedule and come in on the weekend. And I am often viewed as lazy for not wanting to work weekends, even when I worked from 8 AM - Midnight or later during the week.

In my opinion, if I could have even 1 labor law passed for exempt, salaried, professional employees, it would be a prohibition against working 7 days in a row. Yes, I realize some exceptions would be needed for emergencies. But meeting routine deadlines is not an emergency. Bad planning by upper management is not an emergency. Intentionally hiring an insufficient staff to save money is not an emergency. Bidding ridiculously low in order to win a project is not an emergency.

I voted "rarely if ever".

I have a full time job and a part time job. The full time job occasionally has a weekend day, but then I can take a week day off (my choice of which day) or save it up for a later time. My part time job is almost exclusively weekend work, and I usually do it 3 weekend days a month (never a Sat or Sun on the same weekend). They are full days- 8-10 hours (no lunch- rather work through lunch) and I work until I'm done. I do diagnostic testing for a research study for a major pediatric research hospital, and there is a lot of extra paperwork involved. I get paid hourly, with a slight weekend differential added because of the weekend hours.

My weekend work is pretty much all voluntary. I wouldn't have to do a weekend day for my f/t job if I wasn't willing, and I knew what was involved in the p/t job when I took it. As long as I work at least 2 days a month for the p/t job, I can choose to work more or less in any given month.

Never required to come in on weekends.

I have come in to work on a Sat. or Sun. before for the extra time to get stuff done, but that's very infrequent... about once a year or so.

We have a rotating off day schedule. Every fifth week we get a three day weekend (Friday-Sunday) and then Sunday-Monday the next week
